HELP

I

A Grandma at Last

Well I an finally a Grandma! Thank you Amy and Riley! I have long awaited this position. She is so precious. It is fun to see the experience through their eyes. Amy seems a natural other than she didn't think of the pajama thing (sorry Amy, I thought it was funny) But Riley...This is a whole new experience. On his first day of tending, I stopped by he had explained that he had given her about 6 or so bottles some as he called it "FART medicine" (that is mylicon drops) and she was still fussy.I explained that the gas medicine was more for burping than passing gas. I was thinking SIX Bottles in 4 hours! I bet she has a tummy ache. I didn't realize there were only 1-2 maybe 3 ounces in some of them. He was doing a great job. As we sat on the sofa he tells me that he had no idea that this baby experiences would be so fun. I asked "exactly what did you think?" He replied that he thought it was going to consist of taking care of someones every need, more as a duty. I told him that is exactly what he is doing, the only difference is that you love her, so that takes away the 'chore' part of it.
It makes me wonder how you have that instant love for someone, but I remember I had that with my own children. And as they continue to grow so does your love.
So to my precious Baby Abby..."I Love You!"

The Grandma!

I guess you all know by now that I am going to be a GRANDMA, Well.............Not just any old Grandma, I want to be the Best Grandma a kid could ask for. I have had a lot of really good teachers for this position. First my Grandma Morgan. She always made me feel as if I were the most important person in the world.
Then there is my mom... She would take my children and spoil them rotton by waiting on them hand and foot, then send them back to me... BACK TO THE REAL CRUEL WORLD. But oh how they loved her.
Then there was Grandma Finch, Everything they did was 'no bother'. Even with the destroyers aka Riley and Mike.
And Barbara, What a sweet lil' Grandma. She still fixes the kids a little sandwich when they want one.
I also have friends who have been good 'GRANDMOTHER' roles. There is Carrie, the role of Grandma fits her like a glove. There is Cori she just can't get enough of her grandkids. And even though I am mad at Diane, She would put her life on the line for her grandchild.

Three to get ready!

This is Amy, the BEST daughter in-law a person could ask for. A perfect compliment to Riley they make each other Shine And she is a welcome addition to the Beck family. . Amy works at BYU and comes from a long line of Cougar fans.(see photo) I think she is working on Riley, he is a little stuborn though.

One for the MONEY

This is Riley. He returned home from Iraq this last summer, shortly after I gave George... you know George Bush a call. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments.

He and his wife Amy are having a baby in January. Can you imagine me a GRANDMA? What do you think I will be called? Grandma, Granny, Grandma Beck (already one of those) Grandma Shelley.

2 for the DOUGH

This is one of my favorite pictures of my two HEATHENS. As for an update on Mike...As you know, He had a terrible summer, he got so sick he almost died. I just hope and pray that he realizes that he is here for a purpose. I hope someday he will realize just how much he is loved and needed. His health is improving everyday.
As for Bailey...She graduated from High School and is going to school to be a Dental Assistant. I am hoping since they haven't learned from my mistakes, than can learn from each others.
